Features medium green leaves, which turn yellow, sometimes with orange tints in the fall, fading to a tan-beige in the winter
Foliage clump is topped in mid-summer by finely textured, pink tinged, branched flower panicles which hover over the foliage like an airy cloud. Panicles turn beige as the seeds mature in the fall with seed plumes persisting well into winter
Seeds provide a good food source for birds
Grows well in medium to wet soils, but tolerates a wide range of soils including dry soil, but prefers moist, sandy, or clay soils in full sun to partial shade
Great for group or mass plantings, also effective as a screen, wild gardens, & naturalized areas
