Tall,sturdy native with clusters of sunflower-like blooms. Large taproot makes this plant tolerant to drought once established. Adaptable to a large variety of soils that include clay, gravel, & sandy loam. Spreads raidly over time. Best for naturalized areas. Host plant to the Rosinweed Moth & Giant Eucosma Moth. Attracts a large variety of bees & songbirds feed from the seeds.

Blooms July-September in full sun. Reaches 4-6 ft tall.
