A truly stunning & adaptable native bunchgrass. Known for its airy

purple clusters of florets that dance above the mounded grass clumps in August. Seed heads fade to tan-brown by October then detach, rolling like tumbleweeds to sew seeds.

Adds unique color & interest to gardens.

Grows in full sun up to 1-2 ft tall in a range of harsh soil conditions.

Thrives in infertile, dry, sandy, gravelly loam.

Good for erosion control.

Tolerant to drought & black walnut.

Spreads by self-seeding & runner roots.

Foliage provides habitat for butterflies, moths, & wildlife.

Seed heads provide food source for birds.
