Short, densely mounded shrub coated in golden-yellow flowers with a center tuft of yellow stamens. Bright flowers stand out against blue-green foliage. Grows naturally along lakes & rivers. 

Nectar rich blooms attracts butterflies, bees, & many pollinators.

Flowers fade to oval-shaped, chocolate-colored seed heads that persist til spring. Prefers medium-moist, well-drained, rich, sandy, loam soils. 

Tolerate to poor, rocky wet soils, & clay.  

Blooms July to August in full to partial sun.
