Native wetland shrub with large overlapping pink or white petals with a crimson eye. Prominant stamen with white anthers attract butterflies & bees.
Tropical-like flowers can reach up to 6 inches in diameter.
Great for raingardens, ponds, & streambanks. Not recommended for areas that dry out.
Large, woody stems should be cut back in the fall & new growth will emerge in spring.
Grows 3-6ft tall & 2-4ft wide.
Blooms in full to partial sun July-August.
