Sunflower-like native with large, rigid, course, leaves that form a cup at the base of the leaf & stem. Cups collect rainwater attracting birds, treefrogs, & insects 

Flowers are a nectar source for butterflies & bees

Blooms in full sun July-Sept

Grows 5-8ft tall in medium to wet soil

Tolerant to clay

Great for raingardens

This plant can get huge and take over an area over time.

Not suitable for small gardens.
