Short, thick clump forming sedge. 
Grows 1-3 ft tall in wet prairies, swamps, streambanks & moist woods. 
Seedheads spray from the center resembling fox tails. 
Blooms in full sun May-June.
Tolerant to occasional flooding & dry spells. 
Great for rain gardens & erosion control. 
Provides habitat for beneficial insects, food & nesting habitat for a variety of birds.
